Newly founded cricket club, the Regina Titans, in Saskatchewan, Canada, was recently the beneficiary of some much needed gear from another club on the other side of the world - the Sydney Thunder.
The Thunder Foundation's mission is to make sustainable social change, both locally and overseas, and with this gift, it is doing just that. With the Regina Titans getting ready to compete in the inaugural Saskatchewan Women's Cricket League, they were in need of gear and uniforms for the season. According to the club's founder, Salman Khan, the in-kind donation has already caused an increase in participation. "[The Thunder Foundation's] support has enabled us to thoroughly focus on the development of cricket as a sport amongst the youth and women followers."
The Titans are not the only beneficiary of The Thunder's growing foundation. The grant-making organization has also donated equipment and uniforms to clubs in Fiji, Uganda, Nepal, Kenya, Caribbean, Indonesia, and Germany, as well as local Australian clubs. As they grow their support, the Foundation will continue to grow their impact in the cricket world and beyond.
