NIKE released its FY18 Impact Report, which showed its progress in helping everybody achieve their potential. Below are a few of the numbers according to its report:
NIKE’s FYI18 priorities focus on their 2020 targets and priority issues most relevant across their value chain. These include: unleash human potential, transform manufacturing and minimize environmental footprint. NIKE’s goal is to double business while halving its impact. This is the definition of a win-win; business continues to grow while making a positive impact in our community. What’s important to note is that not only is this a CEO driven initiative, but it’s woven into the DNA of the organization as they’ve been committed to global change for decades. For FY18, Diversity and Equal Opportunity as well as Climate Change Risks were identified as key issues with a strong increase in relevance for both internal and external stakeholders. This is important because it shows that NIKE can make subtle changes in the short-term to its long-term purpose strategy. This allows the company to be nimble and react to the global economy, while staying on-brand with its key purpose and business drivers. It will be interesting to watch as NIKE continues to work with global companies to ensure that children are active and strives to create a better future for its people and planet by understanding the pressing issues.
