MaxPreps and Pledge It are teaming up to empower high school football teams to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
MaxPreps is an online source of high school sports. Pledge It is a web-based fundraising platform that allows fans to pledge donations for certain milestones, such as touchdowns. Touchdowns Against Cancer is a first-of-its-kind program that empowers high school football teams to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in conjunction with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
From September 15 to October 1, fans can pledge a donation for every touchdown scored by participating teams. It’s a great way to amplify a fundraising effort. Something as simple as a touchdown has now taken a deeper meaning, as it triggers a donation to benefit the St. Jude mission. However simple it is, when you multiply this by thousands of teams across the country, there will be a magnified effect.
“We believe in the power of sport for social good,” said Scott Shirley, Founder & CEO of Pledge It, to Beyond Sport. “MaxPreps is absolutely the best partner to mobilize high school football teams from coast-to-coast for a cause far greater than wins on the field. And there's no organization more committed to treating and curing childhood cancer than St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Together we can create opportunities for teams to make a positive impact and empower them to help St. Jude defeat childhood cancer.” This is an example of a partnership in full alignment.
